BioJapan 2009 will be held at the Hall C&D, Pacifico Yokohama, this year. We will be having a larger number of exhibitors than the last year. Private companies, local governments, universities, international clusters, and research institutes showcasing their latest technologies, products, and services, we expect to see active business exchanges at the venue.
This year, the exhibition floor will be divided into several theme zones; you will be able to find booths of your interest more easily.
The appeal of an exhibition comes down to who will be there as exhibitors and what will be exhibited. BioJapan 2009 proudly announces that more major Japanese pharmaceutical companies will join us for the first time. With full support of JPMA (Japan Pharmaceutical Manufactures Association), many Japanese mega pharmas will run their booths, and the personnel in charge of licensing, alliance, and drug discovery (R&D) will be there during the three event days to seek opportunities for alliance, licensing-in/out, and acquisition of start-up drug discovery companies. With the help of our unique web matching system (for one-on-one meeting pre-arrangement), your chance of meeting with these mega pharmas will further be expanded.
In addition to the drug discovery field, BioJapan 2009 is trying to cultivate new frontier business sectors such as GreenBio(Environment) ,Food, Cluster and Venture. In cooperation with industry groups, we are now trying to solicit new exhibitors in these emerging fields, with pavilion-based turnkey booth plans.
Furthermore, again expand the diversity of the participants who will be using our web matching system, BioJapan 2009 is opening again its door wider to university TLOs (Technology Licensing Organizations) by introducing packaged poster display booth plans exclusively for academia.
We will be distributing the floor map at the venue, which helps you find at a glance what category of items are exhibited and where. We will also provide meeting space, where you can have business meetings on a space available basis. VIP guests are invited to use the VIP-only lounge, too.

What is the “Happy Hour”?
On Oct. 8th, starting at 1600PM, we will hold Happy Hour Party inside exhibition hall.
We are welcoming our exhibitors from all over the world to prepare their local specialties, such as wine, whisky, chocolate, and cookies,as refreshment for the visitors.
We, the event organizer, will also be waiting for you with Japanese sake (rice wine, old masterpiece of biotechnology!) in a big barrel, to be served in masu, or a square wooden cup!
We may extend the closing time for the exhibition hall a little bit dependingon the situation.
