The number of foreign visitors to Japan was 23.79 million on the October 2017 (estimated by JNTO), and it has been expected surely exceeding 24 million of the previous year. Experience-based services have been drawing much attention, and the movement to develop new type of services has become active. On the other hand, in the retail industry, many news reports that inbound related sales of department stores exceeds the one of previous year. By strengthening marketing activities and improving convenience of services for foreign visitors, it becomes easier to increase sales and to attract customers to the region.

Nikkei BP will hold a general exhibition named "Global Business WEEK" in July 2018 to enhance Japan's international competitiveness.

Though "Inbound Japan" held twice in the past, Nikkei BP expands it further and renamed as "Overseas & Inbound marketing 2018", that focuses not only on inbound business but also overseas marketing activities including cross-border ECs. This exhibition creates a place to get case studies, tips and solutions to solve the issues of selling Japanese products, culture and technologies to overseas markets and to foreigners.

We also focus on high potential cross-border EC market.

According to a survey published by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in April 2017 (chart), the global EC market will continue to grow at double digit annually, which is from US $ 400 billion in 2016 and forecast to reach US $ 944 billion in 2020. The survey estimates that the cross-border EC market in Japan targeting to the U.S. and China, which are the two major countries, will grow by 1.72 times for US, 1.84 times for China during the 4 years from 2016 to 2020 respectively.

It is expected that cross-border EC will be grown with "travel after" consumption of foreign visitors of Japan and the event focuses on such a utilization of high potential cross-border EC.
