    Overseas sustainable urban and rural solution projects from Singapore.

    The exhibits will provide an insight into the initiatives undertaken by Singapore to provide a 'Living Lab' environment, where cleantech companies can test-bed and demonstrate innovative solutions before exporting them to the Asia-Pacific region, as well as overseas sustainable urban and rural solution projects from Singapore.     Thai Government continued policy on energy development towards the sustainable and environmental-friendly society

    DEDE will display about the Thai Government continued policy on energy development towards the sustainable and environmental-friendly society. This has stemmed from His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej initiative on alternative energy development by experimenting the biogas production from dairy cow manure and dead plants in 1979, and the study on ethanol production from sugarcane in 1985. Since then, many experiments and study on energy mix has been speedily and consistently developed and accepted for use nationwide. At present, the Thai Government has set the 15 Year Renewable Energy Policy Development Plan as a national agenda and has instructed DEDE to work on renewable activities to reach the target increasing share of renewable energy at 20.3% of the final energy consumption by the year 2022. DEDE will also display how Thailand implements and promotes EE through many approaches i.e. energy award, introducing new technology for EE in building, promoting EE in household appliances with standard and labeling etc.

    Chinese Taipei's solar PV and LED lighting industries

    The focus of our exhibits will be on Chinese Taipei's solar PV and LED lighting industries, which have been chosen recently by the government as priority for development. Our main objective is to highlight the competitive advantages of these key green industries to the international audience. Currently, production of solar and LED products in Chinese Taipei has already reached considerable economic levels. We also will be presenting some products from our other green industries, such as wind power, bio-fuel, H2 energy and fuel cell, but on a relatively smaller scale.

    We will put up posters and charts containing information (text, graphics, and images) about Chinese Taipei's green industry policies, current developments and business opportunities around our display booth.

    Examples of projects:

    A.Hydrogen Assisted Renewable Power System Demonstration Project In collaboration with government and private business, Powertech provided the consulting services, equipment testing and evaluation for this project. The HARP system is a demonstration project to determine the feasibility of storing excess renewable energy in remote communities to reduce the reliance on diesel generators that often support rural communities that are not part of the grid system.

    B.Instream Energy System Corp. Duncan Dam Hydrokinetic Power Project. Instream Energy Systems approached Powertech in 2009 to conduct a test program to deploy and characterize four vertical axis hydrokinetic turbines (VAHTs) in the Duncan Dam discharge channel. This project is identified as the first multi-unit VAHT demonstration project of its kind.

    1. Eco-communities in the Philippines

    Among the country's pride are the eco-communities of the localities of Calbiga, Daram and Catbalogan of the beautiful Province of Samar.

    The Municipality of Calbiga, touted one of the most livable communities in the world, is blessed with an abundance of natural resources like the Langun-Gobingob Caves, a 12-chambered cave system that is second largest in Asia and home to the extremely rare blind gobinee fish.

    Daram, on the other hand, is an island municipality with numerous dive and snorkeling sites.

    Finally, Catbalogan is a city with a balance mix of rural and urban ambiance carved along imposing mountain ridges, winding river, rolling green terrain, and picturesque coastline dotted with islands, islets and coral reefs.

    2. Energy-saving/ storing products made in the Philippines, namely: Motolite

    solar batteries and Louis Brothers' Power LED.

    Philippines is home to global manufacturers of environment-friendly products like

    Power LED Lighting, Solar Panels and Solar Batteries.

    The Hong Kong government is working closely together with the Guangdong provincial government on the Chinese mainland to transform the Pearl River Delta region into a 'Quality Green Living Area'.
