About TGS Digital World

What is the difference between TGS DW and TGS?

TGS DW is one of the initiatives within TGS. Following last year's, this year's event will also feature a VR venue.
The content will be virtualized and 3D for a richer and more immersive experience. Moreover, the avatar communication and ease of getting around will allow visitors to experience the "excitement and serendipity" that real events used to offer.

When will this event be held?

The dates and times for VR experience are as follows. You can access at any time during the period:
Start at 10:00a.m., on Thursday, September 20, 2024
End at 24:00, on Sunday, October 6, 2024
*Japan Time

Is there a usage fee?

Admission to TGSDW2024 is free. The exhibition hall is open to everyone.

Is re-entry to the venue possible?

You can re-enter at any time during the exhibition period.

Is there a limit to the number of visitors?

We are doing our best to welcome as many visitors as possible, but if there are more participants than expected, we may have to set some restrictions.

Is there a target area?

The target regions for the Event are all areas excluding China and Russia. If you are from a region outside the target regions, you cannot participate in the Event.

Is there rules for this event?

What is the official TGS DW info (X) account? Can media and users contact you?

This is an account dedicated to sending out information about TGS DW and does not accept any inquiries.
We will provide various information about TGS DW from before to after the exhibition, so please follow us.

I would like to do media coverage on TGSDW2024, who should I contact?

I would like to publish the TGSDW2024 application in the media, and may I feature it in the media without permission?

There is no problem for you to experience the app during the event period and write an article along with images and videos taken in the app.

Can I post images and videos on social media?

Yes, you can post any images and videos taken in the app.
Please post them with the hashtag #TGSDW2024 if you like.

I would like to stream live on YouTube etc., but is there any problem with that?

TGSDW2024 allows distributors to post and stream video clips of their games, so there is no problem with this.
The settings for profit/no profit are at the discretion of the distributor.
Please note that the following items are prohibited.

  • ■Posts that could be misconstrued as being from TOKYO GAME SHOW Digital World 2024 or related parties.
  • ■Anything that gives the impression of sponsorship or affiliation from TOKYO GAME SHOW Digital World 2024 or its related parties, when in fact it is not.
  • ■Anything that violates, affirms, or encourages crimes, antisocial activities, or other violations of the laws and regulations of any country.
  • ■Anything that violates TOKYO GAME SHOW Digital World 2024's terms of use, or affirms or encourages such violations.

How do I Play?

You can play TGSDW2024 in different four ways:

  1. (1) Desktop mode with a stand-alone Windows PC
  2. (2) PC VR mode with PC and VR connected
  3. (3) All-in-one VR
  4. (4) Smartphone
What are the system requirements for viewing?

The recommended environment is as follows:

    Notes:
    The required GPU performance depends on your display setting.
    The requirements above are based on 1920x1080 resolution.
    The higher the resolution is, the higher the load becomes.

    Since it involves real-time communication, we recommend playing it in a stable network environment.
Does it support PC VR using Virtual Desktop?

Operation is confirmed, but not guaranteed.

I get a "PC protected by Windows" message and cannot start the application.

When I start the application, the message "A virus was detected and deleted because it was unsafe" appears.

Although we have confirmed that there are no viruses in the system, some virus detection software may issue a warning. Please contact the manufacturer of the device you are using for more detailed information, as it depends on your environment and the specific event.

The app does not finish downloading or loading.

Upon initial startup, downloading may take several tens of minutes depending on network conditions.
For VR devices, if the device enters sleep mode during downloading, the download may fail. Please change the sleep mode setting.

The app has become slow/sluggish.

If the graphics performance of your device is insufficient, try switching to "Normal" in the graphics settings in the menu.
If there is no improvement, please try restarting the application. If the behavior is still slow after restarting, please delete the application, reinstall it, and press "Clear Cache" before starting again.

Can I look around with my friend?
What should I do if I get separated from my friend?

You can enjoy the game with your friends by selecting a channel using the channel function. Please note that even if you select a channel, your friends may be moved to another channel depending on the number of people in the channel. In that case, please select a new channel again and join them.
Please note that some content is a solo experience.

Can I look around alone?

You can enjoy all the space even if you are alone.
Please note that other visitors may be on the same channel due to the automatic channel assignment function.

Is photography allowed?

As one of the functions available in the exhibition hall, is a photography function. Zoom in/out and selfie functions are also available, so please try taking pictures. For PC and PC VR, they will be saved in "Pictures\xambr\picture".
For Meta Quest 2・3, you can view them from the smartphone app or retrieve them from "xambr/picture" after connecting to PC via USB.

Why does the video I'm watching stop?

Some of the videos are large in capacity. It may be difficult to view these videos depending on your internet connection.

Sound does not play.

Check if the volume on the OS, speakers, or Meta Quest 2・3 itself is not set to mute. You can also open "Settings" from the app's menu, select "Sound," to check if the volume setting is correct.

I can't hear other people's voices.

Open "Settings" from the app's menu, select "Sound", and adjust the volume of the voice.

The other person cannot hear my voice.

Please check the microphone mute setting in the application.
The default setting is mute, so please turn it on from the menu.
In Windows, you can turn the microphone on and off by pressing the V key.
If you are using Windows, the microphone used by the application may not appear in the application unless it is selected as the default device in the list of recording devices in the Windows sound settings.

Where can I find text chat functions?

Press the balloon icon in the upper left corner, to open your chat window.

After the device went to sleep, it returned to the title.

Please try logging in again. Since this is an application that performs real-time communication, it may return to the title when it goes into sleep mode.

I was logged in and now I am back at the title screen.

You might return to the title screen once you have played for more than 4 hours.

Is it possible to respawn?

Respawning is not available, but if you move to a another channel, you can restart from the entrance of that room.

I deleted the app, can I get my play data back?

For PC, account information including play data will be retained even if the application is deleted.
Please note that it will be deleted in Meta Quest 2・3.

I got an "Under Maintenance” message. What should I do?

As soon as the maintenance is completed, we will notify you on this page.
