Theme: Your front row ticket to the next generation of gaming
A big success with about 176,000 visitors over 3 days
—the highest number ever!
TOKYO GAME SHOW 2005 was held from September 16 (Fri.) through 18 (Sun.) under the theme “Your front row ticket to the next generation of gaming” organized by Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA), and co-organized by Nikkei Business Publication, Inc. The show was very well attended over 3 days with a total 176,056 visitors. The number of visitors exceeds that of the last year’s show by approximately 16,000 people.

Total 131 exhibitors-also, the highest number ever-joined this 15th Tokyo Game Show. Game Software companies, game software development tools & middleware companies and game colleges from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Russia, Ukraine, Canada, and Australia exhibited more than 600 new video game software and game-related peripherals.
New video games and game software for the next generation platforms which will debut soon drew attention in the venue as well as mobile phone games, on-line games and portable games. Panel discussion of age rating, charity auction held by organizers also came under the spotlight. More over, many of exhibitors had huge success with various kind of show such as talk show and game competition.
The next Tokyo Game Show will be held from September 22, Friday, to September 24, Sunday, 2006.
