The main visual for the Tokyo Game Show 2008 [Show period: Thursday, October 9 to Sunday, October 12, 2008; Location: Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City)], organized by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association (CESA; Yoichi Wada, Chairman; Nishi Shinbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo) in cooperation with Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. (Yasuo Hirata, President and CEO; Minato-ku, Tokyo) has been finalized.
In keeping with this year’s theme, “Ready for GAME Time!”, which reflects the organizers’ wish that everyone enjoy games through the Tokyo Game Show 2008 to their hearts’ content, the main visual uses vivid colors in a bold composition to express the feelings of expectation, enthusiasm and excitement that people from around the world have toward the Tokyo Game Show.
The uplifting feeling of people looking forward to the Tokyo Game Show 2008, now the world’s largest game show, is expressed in various hues of glowing orange and in a pattern of arrows stretching out toward the Tokyo Game Show logo in the center.
The orange gradation in the background of the Tokyo Game Show logo also gives the impression of assimilation with the dazzling sun and suggests the infinite possibilities that computer entertainment spreads before us.
In addition, what are written on the arrows are enthusiastic and excited remarks by the visitors overwhelmed by the large number of games displayed in the venue, such as “I’ve never seen anything like it!”, “I’ll have to tell my friends!”, and “Where shall I start?” - in several different languages. The main visual graphically expresses the impression of the Tokyo Game Show as a global computer entertainment show where a great many people gather not only from Japan but from all around the world, as well as the dynamism of excited vectors converging from across the world and excitement filling every corner of the venue.
