SENSE OF WONDER NIGHT 2015

Party Hard

Alex Potapenko / Pinokl Games  Ukraine〔Ukraine〕

1: What's your background in making games?
Pinokl Games creates games since 2011. Our first game was made for Russian social network Vkontakte. A few following games were social games. When mobile games became mainstream, we launched our first mobile game. After long period of development the game was released, but we were exhausted. And here is when the history of Party Hard begins.
2: How much time did you spend working on the game?
It took us 8 months to create the game from first playable demo to release build.
3: How did you come up with the concept?
We took part in IndiesVSPewDiePie games jam on gamejolt.com. Game jam is a great time to relax and try something new. After a long discussion, we came up with the basic idea for Party Hard.
4: What development tools did you use?
We are using Unity engine to code and animate.
5: What were the significant changes between the presented games and games you developed before?
First of all, Party Hard is a standalone PC game, all previous games were web-based social games and mobile games. Our previous games were family friendly, current game contains violence and blood. Our previous games were free-to-play games, Party Hard is premium paid game.
6: What is your goal as a game developer?
Our main goal as developer is to deliver a Message. The Message is different from game to game. We create a new game when we have something to say to our players and we are trying to do it in a best possible way.
7: Please write a message to future SOWN attendees regarding your expectation and feeling about being selected to be a finalist.
We are extremely happy and excited to be part of this great show. It's an honor to be a finalist. It is very important for a game developer to be open for new experience and new connections. We tried to make this game special and are happy that people like it.
