The “Tokyo Game Show” (TGS) grows in size every year, in line with the development of the global game industry.
Last year saw the first four-day event held, with the business day section being lengthened as a way of strengthening the event’s trade show function (2 business days + 2 days open to the public). TGS thus established itself as both a BtoB and BtoC event.
As a result, there was a 50% increase on the previous year in the number of exhibitors joining the show, with 217 companies, and a total 193,040 visitors, including 62,173 visitors on the business days alone. This represented a record number of both participating exhibitors and visitors to the show.
There is also increasing attention being given to the TGS by the media.
Last year’s show was packed with a record 4,670 members of the press from 34 countries and regions around the world, seeking news from the various “world first” announcements made at the show.
As a result, the Tokyo Game Show featured heavily in a variety of powerful media, including Japanese and overseas television, newspapers, magazines and websites.
This year’s show, “Tokyo Game Show 2008”, is to be held for four days from October 9.
We also intend to develop the contents of the event this year.
Continuing from last year, we plan to prepare more than enough facilities for business visitors and members of the press from around the world to hold business discussions and collect information. On the days when the show is open to the public, we intend to prepare numerous events for visitors to enjoy.
The Tokyo Game Show will act as a focal point for the latest information in computer entertainment, attracting attention from around the world.
We would urge you to consider participating a booth as a way of publicizing new products, enhancing public relations, making sales promotions or doing new business.
