Q. What kind of event is it?
A.
TOKYO GAME SHOW(TGS) is one of the world's largest gaming events, first held in 1996 and celebrating its 26th anniversary this year.
Last year we had a small real venue to which the press and influencers were invited, but this year, for the first time in three years, the event will hold a real venue open to the general public. Please note that there will be some differences from TOKYO GAME SHOW of three years ago due to the various crowd control measures to be taken against Covid-19.
Also, the contents that will be available on the official website will be the same as last year. TGS will provide information through a hybrid of real venues and online content.

Makuhari Messe Halls 1-8, and International Conference Hall will be used.
The real venue will include General Exhibition, Smartphone Game, VR/AR, e-Sports, Game School, Merchandise Sales, Indie Game, Business Solution, New Stars (Asia/Eastern Europe/Latin), and Business Meeting Area, etc.

Q. When is the exhibition?
A.
The real venue will be open for four days from Thursday, September 15 to Sunday, September 18, 2022.
The first Business Day, Thursday, September 15, is from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The second Business Day, Friday, September 16, will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (re-entry until 5:30 p.m.), but will open to the general public for the first time on Friday, September 16, at 2:00 p.m.
In addition to Friday, September 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (re-entry until 5:30 p.m.), there will also be half-day tickets available on Saturday, September 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (re-entry until 5:30 p.m.) and Sunday, September 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (re-entry until 5:30 p.m.) on both the 17th and 18th. Half-day tickets are also available for both the 17th and 18th.

Tickets for Public Days are:
September 16 (Friday): "Afternoon Ticket" for admission on Friday, September 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
September 17 (Saturday): "One-Day Ticket" for admission on Saturday, September 17 from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
September 17 (Saturday): "Afternoon Ticket" for admission on Saturday, September 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
September 18 (Sunday): "One-Day Ticket" for admission on Sunday, September 18 from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

For all of above five types of tickets, Re-entry is until 5:30 p.m.
In addition, there are two types of "TGS Supporter Club Tickets" that allow priority admission on September 17 (Sat.) and 18 (Sun.) respectively.
All tickets are sold in advance and in limited quantities, so please purchase your tickets at various ticket agents.
Q. When can I purchase admission tickets and for how long?

Admission tickets for the Public Day (September 16, 17, and 18) will go on sale at 10:00 on Saturday, July 9. Please note that the number of admission tickets is limited. Please also note that there will be no same-day ticket sales this year. Q. Where can I buy admission tickets?

Q. Will tickets be sold on the day of the event?

Please note that NO Public Day tickets will be sold on the day of the event. Only Special discount admission tickets will be sold.
Q. Can I enter on a different designated date than the date on the admission ticket I purchased?
A.
All admission tickets are date-specific. Unused tickets will NOT be admitted on a different date.
Q. Can I get a refund?
A.
NO refunds will be made for personal reasons.
Q. Can I use one admission ticket for two days?
A.
No admission. Admission tickets are date-specific, so you will not be allowed to enter the venue until the date and start time indicated on your ticket.
Q. I would like to go as a group.
A.
Admission tickets may be purchased up to 4 per account. Please note that group purchases are not available.
Q. Do you offer discounts for the elderly?
A.
Special discount admission tickets (100 yen (tax included)) will be available for those 70 years of age or older at the dedicated ticket window located at Makuhari Messe.
Advance tickets will not be sold.

Q. When are tickets sold?
A.
TGS Supporters Club tickets will go on sale from 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22. For more information, please visit the TGS Tickets page (https://expo.nikkeibp.co.jp/tgs/2022/en/ticket/publicday.html).
Q. When can I get the special offers (T-shirts and stickers)?
A.
For T-shirts, you can choose your size (S, M, L, XL) when you purchase your ticket, but the color is determined for each day (Saturday, 14th and Sunday, 15th). Size cannot be changed after purchase. Also, stickers will be the same design for both days.
Q. What does it mean to "provide priority admission for a certain period of time after the doors open in the morning?"
A.
Priority Entrance Lanes for TGS Supporters Club tickets will be set up after the first train arrives at JR Kaihin-Makuhari Station. Please follow the guidance of the Makuhari Messe information signs and staff and line up in the Admission Standby Line.
To enter the venue, you will first be asked to confirm your ticket and identity at Special Reception Desk before proceeding to Priority Admission Lane. Please note that this is a different line from the general admission waiting line.Priority Admission Lane for Supporters' Club tickets will be removed after the scheduled time by TGS Management Office.
After that, the admission line will be the same as that for general admission ticket holders. Also, please note that after 11:00am, the privileges (T-shirts, Stecker) will not be available for pickup. will be handed over at the information counter near the central entrance on the 2nd floor of Halls 1-8 only on the day of the event (the day it is valid). Please note that the information counter will only be open on the day of the event (valid on the day of validity).
Q. TGS Supporters Club tickets are set by day, can I enter on a different day?
A.
Tickets are valid only on the validity date indicated on the ticket. TGS Supporters Club ticket valid on Saturday, September 17 will not allow admission on Sunday, September 18. The reverse is also true. Please check the validity date on the ticket before coming to the event.
Q. What is required for "Identification"?
A.
You will need to bring a "driver's license," "passport," "health insurance card," "student ID card," or "my number card" that can be used to verify your name. If you do not bring your card, it may take some time to confirm your name, which may delay your entry or prevent you from entering the venue.

We are very sorry, but as part of the measures against Covid-19 infections, children of elementary school age and younger will not be admitted to this year's TGS, even if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. We ask for your understanding in advance.

Q. Can I wear a costume (Cosplay)?
A.
There will be no cosplay area or cosplay changing rooms at TGS2022. Therefore, cosplayers are NOT allowed to take photos in and around the venue.
<Attention regarding clothing>
The following clothing is PROHIBITED. If you are found to be in violation, you may be asked to leave the venue.
・Clothing for professionals with special responsibilities in the course of their work
Police officers, firefighters, self-defense personnel, security guards, white coats, nurses' uniforms, etc.
・Excessive exposure of the skin
Any clothing that directly shows skin or undergarments (including those that look like underwear) on the chest, waist, etc.
・Items that cause discomfort to those around them.
Nazi military uniforms, clothing reminiscent of terrorism, bloodstains, etc.
Please refrain from wearing clothing that is associated with specific individuals or racial discrimination, or that may cause fear among the general public.
・Objects that are disruptive to the surrounding environment.
Large stuffed animals, haribote (pinata), skirts or cloaks that are long enough to drag on the floor, etc.
<Restrictions on personal belongings inside the venue>
The following items are prohibited to bring at venue.
・Items of any length over 50 cm (regardless of material)
(This includes hats, canes, rackets, and similar items (even if they are extendable or disassembled, items exceeding 50 cm in length are not allowed). (Excluding casas for rainy weather. This also includes costumes and ornaments such as helmets and armor, etc. Horns, shoulders, and other ornaments exceeding 50 cm in length are prohibited.
・Weapons and armors such as firearms, swords, chains, etc.
Model guns, air guns, knives, sharp objects such as ice picks, needles, scissors, etc. are prohibited. Pointed objects such as model guns, air guns, knives, ice picks, pincers, needles, scissors, etc. or costume ornaments such as helmets and armor are also included.
・Items that may cause harm to others
Do not bring bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, or throwable items (yo-yos, balls, disks, etc.).
・Alcohol, fuel, chemicals, or items that make noise
Flammable items, items made of highly flammable materials, and items that emit strong odors are prohibited. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited in the venue. No music players, loudspeakers, musical instruments, or other noisy activities such as singing in chorus are prohibited.
Neither the sponsoring organization nor the venue will be liable for any disadvantages or accidents caused by visitors' belongings other than those mentioned above.

Q. Can I photograph cosplayers?
A.
・Photographing of cosplayers by general visitors is prohibited. If such behavior is discovered, you may be asked to leave the venue.
・When photographing booth companions, etc., please be sure to obtain permission from the subject of the photo. Please use a wall as a background to avoid photographing unrelated people.
・Large strobes, lights, and other photographic equipment using stands, etc. are prohibited. Smaller equipment must also conform to the regulations of the venue (within 50 cm in length). If the staff determines that such equipment will cause inconvenience to others, it will be prohibited.
・Photographs taken at the venue may not be posted in publications or sold.
・Taking photos for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
・If you wish to post photos you have taken on your personal website or social networking service, please be sure to ask permission from the subject of the photo.
・Please leave carry-on cases and large equipment bags in lockers to reduce congestion.
・The use of selfie sticks is prohibited.
・Please follow the instructions of each booth when taking pictures inside the booths.

Q. What is required to try out a game with a CERO Z classification?
A.
To try out some game titles, such as those in CERO Z category (game software containing expressions intended only for those 18 years of age or older), you will be required to present various forms of identification (driver's license, passport, student ID, etc.) to verify your age. Age verification will be conducted at each booth. Please follow the guidance of the booth staff.

Q. I would like to know which companies are exhibiting at the real venue.

If you see the tag "Real Exhibitors" in the company window you viewed on the "Exhibitors" page of the official TGS website, it means that the company is exhibiting at Makuhari Messe venue. For business seminars, only those who can log in to the TGS Business Day Pre-Registration System can watch (non-exhibitors are charged).

TGS Official Programs include "Official Exhibitor Programs," in which exhibitors provide the latest information, keynote speeches, organizer programs created in cooperation with game media, "Sense of Wonder Night (SOWN)" a presentation event by indie game developers, and the announcement and presentation of the "Japan Game Awards".
Q. How can I watch the official program?
A.
TGS Official Programs will be available on YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, Niconico, Facebook, TikTok Live, DouYu (China), bilibili (China), Douyin (China), HUYA (China), as well as on the special TGS page on Steam. Enjoy the programs on the platform of your choice.
However, some programs may not be available on all platforms due to copyright and other issues.
All official programs on TGS2022 will be available in English with simultaneous interpretation. Simultaneous interpretation in Chinese and other languages will also be available for selected programs.

Q. Can I watch official programs after the streaming time? How long can I watch a program? Can I watch it as many times as I want?

Most of the programs will be archived on the official TGS channel of each video distribution platform after distribution. You can watch them as many times as you like for free. Please note, however, that some programs may have a limited archive period.

Q. What is the free trial play?

The "Free Trial Play" program allows exhibitors to play free "trial versions" of their games in the online stores of various gaming platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Google Play. From new releases to previously released titles, we hope you will enjoy the experience.
On the official website, we have compiled all the information on the demo versions available on each online store at once and provided links to them. You can play the demo version by going to the page of each title and downloading the demo version. Please follow the rules of each platform when downloading and playing games.
Q. When can I start playing the demo version?
A.
The "Trial Version Free Play" page will be available from Thursday, September 15. The timing of the release of the trial version may vary depending on the title, so please check the information on the download page of each game title.
Q. How can I play the trial version?
A.
Most of the games available in the "free trial version" are downloadable from online stores, but there are also titles that can be played in a Web browser.
